Chris-Vincent Agyapong Febiri, Editor of GhanaCelebrities.Com and BrutallyUncensored.Com has called Mensa Otabil’s sermon delivered yesterday which has received praises from several Ghanaian social media users BOLLOCKS—saying, it’s sad that most people cannot see beyond the smoke screen being presented by the man of God.
In a facebook post, Chris-Vincent wrote;
“So Mensa Otabil says the only or perhaps the main reason Mark Zuckerberg is richer than every Ghanaian and total Ghana is not because of a brain superiority but it’s solely because of environment.
JOY FM reports that; “Otabil feels angry and insulted by the development because Zuckerberg, he reckoned, is not any more intelligent than the thousands of computer programmers in Ghana but the American has a better environment; a country of opportunities.
“What is the difference between Zuckerberg and you; Steve Jobs and you? Otabil asked rhetorically. “It is not brains, it is the environment,” he answered sullenly.”
On two counts; Otabil is once again talking bollocks but as usual, most people will not think beyond the ridiculous praises.
Of course Zuckerberg has a brain superiority than ‘most Ghanaian computer programmers’ and this is evident in the fact that he thought of something most people, including, Americans did not even consider. And he worked hard in making it happen.
On an ordinary day, the grey T-shirt wearing dude will rock it with the smartest brains of our time.
Secondly, if it is purely because of environment, then my cousin-Tracy born in the same ‘hood’ as Zuckerberg should also have been equally rich.
The environment premise and the rich conclusion fall flat on its face considering the fact that several other millions of people were born in America and yet are NOT as rich as Zuckerberg.
I believe that even if Mark Zuckerberg was born in Ghana, he would have become who he is today if his brains remained the same—perhaps, it would have been a little difficult but not totally impossible.
Last, as someone rightful noted, Mark Zuckerberg, 31, is the 6th richest or something like that in the world because he does not believe in a God—he is an atheist.
Why this? Because, he does not handover 10% of his income to folks like Otabil or be intimidated with the denial of some sort of divine blessings or a lake of fire that awaits him after life to give out money each Sunday in a form of offering or Kofi & Amma.
If Zuckerberg was giving out 10% of his income each month, plainly, he wouldn’t be the 6th richest, all things being equal—because that would have been 10% of his billions going into the pocket of some version of Otabil.
Again, Zuckerberg does not spend majority of his life in a church, praying to God—he rather uses his time profitably, evident in his success.He works his butt off, instead of praying and fasting incessantly for some celestial father’s divine intervention.
At 11 years old, he was learning computer programming, which is the source of his riches today—but at 11, I was leaning to recite Bible quotations, from Genesis to Revelation and most of my friends were doing the same.
The guy speaks Chinese (mandarin) perfectly as hell—and most Ghanaians speak tongues brilliantly as hell.
So Mensa Otabil, it’s not primarily environment—but the mindset or brains.
Zuckerberg is an intelligent dude and most intelligent people live above the cold water of poverty—somehow, they are industrious enough to make some sort of enviable living.
And guess what; a research which took into consideration over 100 years of data has stated that the more intelligent a person is, the less likely that person would believe in the existence of a God.
Just based on this, we cannot disagree with the fact that Zuckerberg’s brains work differently—he is intelligent.
The undeniable truth is; Zuckerberg is mainly rich not because of his environment—as I have shown. He does not live in that environment alone and yet has such riches alone. So reasonably, it’s something unique which is the source of his riches, his mindset—which also defines his non-belief.
You can even say LUCK; but it is surely not because of his environment that he is this rich as you boldly told your followers yesterday.
If most Ghanaians begin to think like Zuckerberg and stop paying a compulsory 10% tax on their income to you and your cabal of holy friends, they will be a little better off—and you, more worse off.
So if you sincerely want the best for them, then inspire them to think like Zuckerberg and not fundamentally blame the environment because with their brains as it is, they will remain as they are even if the environment changes…
And who created that environment you blame? Same brains of people—it’s the mindset which ought to change and not necessary the dwelling place.#Mental emancipation!
Otabil speaks as if the person and the environment which he creates are independent of each other—the system and the brains are intertwined, the same. But the brains create the system which it then becomes part of, so your best shot is to change the brains or mindset and not blame the system.
But the catch is, if most Ghanaians start thinking like Mark, your church would have less people entering each day—so you wouldn’t tell them this and conveniently, you are throwing dust into their eyes by blaming the wrong factor.

Now see this;
“Gallup’s World Poll, for example, indicates that 8 of the 11 countries in which almost all residents (at least 98%) say religion is important in their daily lives are poorer nations in sub-Saharan Africa and Asia.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, the 10 least religious countries studied include several with the world’s highest living standards, including Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Hong Kong, and Japan. (Several other countries on this list are former Soviet republics, places where the state suppressed religious expression for decades.)”
