Multiple award winning Ghanaian super star-Abraham Attah, 15, made his debute appearance at the Oscars, in Los Angeles last night—looking smart in a black tuxedo and a pair of velvet TOMS.
The Beasts of No Nation actor and who was also an Oscar presenter walked the 88th annual Academy Awards red carpet in his TOMS and proudly with a good cause behind it.
Since the profit shoe brand donates a pair of shoes to children in need for every pair sold, Abraham Attah entered into an agreement with them, so that the shoe brand will donate 10,000 pairs of shoes to the people of Ghana—in return for him wearing the brand to the most important award show in the world, he told E! correspondent Ryan Seacrest.
That’s clever—and heart touching.
Even before the Oscars, Abraham Attah was spotted wearing lace-up TOMS on Saturday night when he won Best Actor at the Independent Spirit Awards.
While some of our local champion stars are spending huge amount of cash on expensive brands they cannot afford and others are flaunting with the fakies, Abraham Attah is getting free TOMS to wear so that his people will also get some.
Congrats to @AttahNii on his #SpiritAwards Best Male Lead win for #BeastsOfNoNation! Looking sharp in his #TOMS. ? pic.twitter.com/O3MIFMWJVX
