President Mahama Visits Kintampo Crash Victims- Promises Ghc 100,000 In Aid


The President, John Dramani Mahama on Sunday paid a visit to the injured survivors of the Kintampo crash that occurred last week.
Accompanied by other government officials, the President commiserated with the recuperating victims of the accident that claimed 63 lives in one of Ghana’s deadliest road accidents in years.
During his visit, the President promised Ghc 100,000 in aid for the survivors- government had already promised to foot their medical bills- and some of the items they were presented with included cartons of milk and Milo.
The President was accompanied by NDC General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah and Deputy Health Minister Victor Bampoe- for the visit spanning the hospitals in the Bring Ahafo region where the survivors are being treated.
The accident occurred on Wednesday, February 17, when a Metro Mass Bus travelling to Tamale crashed into a cargo truck carrying tomatoes. 63 people lost their lives in the accident, with 23 injured.
