Former WWE star and current Hollywood darling, Dave Bautista, who fought under the ring name ‘Batista’- has lashed out at Manny Pacquiao for his comments on gay people.
The ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ star was asked about his opinions on the Filipino boxing star’s comments saying gay people are worse than animals, and calling for them to be put to death- and his response was pretty straight to the point.
“My opinion on that is he’s a f**king idiot,” he told TMZ.
“My mom happens to be a lesbian so I don’t f**king take that sh*t. I don’t think it’s funny.” He continued.
“If anyone called my mother an animal I’d stick my foot in his a**,” he said, before adding that whilst Pacquiao remained a great boxer, “as far as his opinions, stick that up your a**,”
Bautista’s rant comes after the multiple division world champion called gay people ‘worse than animals’.
Running for a senate seat in his native Philippines, the legendary boxer revealed stunningly ignorant, but perhaps popular views, about gay people in a television interview.
“It’s common sense. Do you see animals mating with the same s*x?
“Animals are better because they can distinguish male from female,” Pacquiao told local broadcaster TV5.
“If men mate with men and women mate with women they are worse than animals.”
After initially apologising, he later doubled down by posting a photo referencing Leviticus, which calls for gay people to be put to death. Bautista apparently, was not amused.
Bautista and Pacquiao have history together, as the former wrestler is a strong supporter of Filipino boxing. In 2009, he accompanied Pacquiao to the ring for his bout with Briton Ricky Hatton.
