Actress Salma Mumin appeared on the Late Night Celebritiy Show with Eddy Blay on Etv, and she had some interesting thoughts on actors/actresses acting nude.
Most Ghanaian actors, when asked about acting nude, dismiss the notion outright. Some say they’ll do it for a million bucks, Mumin is aiming far higher.
She told Eddy Blay that nude scenes are tasteful if done in the right manner, and she would definitely consider doing it if it serves a purpose.
“I don’t see anything wrong with sex scenes.” She said.
“I keep referencing Lupita (Nyong’o) who went nude and got really huge and she grabbed awards all over awards. If I’m featuring in a movie and doing a nude scene, it will cost the producers a lot. I don’t just play the roles for nothing; it has to make sense because if I’m playing a character to educate the youth about premarital s*x, I think it’s a good thing. It has to be done be done beautifully.”
However educative it would be, just agreeing to take part in the nude scene would cost the producer a lot of money.
“I will charge 5 million dollars for a s*x scene. I’m not talking about cedis.
“S*x sells and producers will push you to do one or two scenes from time to time to push their movies but if it doesn’t make sense I won’t do it.” She added.
I think this is her roundabout way of saying I would never do s*x scenes. Because I’m struggling to see why anyone would pay $5m for her to go nude.
