Five people have been picked up by police for questioning in connection with the death of the NPP Member of parliament for Abuakwa North, Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu.
The 50 year old was stabbed to death at his home in Shiashi in Accra in the early hours of February 9. The assailants are believed to have climbed up a ladder into his bedroom to stab him to death.
The five picked up, including two women, all live within the neighbourhood of the late MP’s house. Three were present on the premises when the incident occurred.
Police investigations continue into the murder of Mr Danquah-Adu, who was stabbed to death early Tuesday. A three term MP, he survived a similar attack in 2010, when he sustained injuries from an attack by three assailants. His then girlfriend was accused of masterminding that attack, although what link exists between the two incidents is merely circumstantial at this point.
The late MP was the grandson of founding father J.B Danquah. He is survived by a wife and two children.
