The New Patriotic Party (NPP) member of Parliament for Abuakwa North, Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu, was in the early hours of Tuesday stabbed to death at his home in Shiashie in Accra.
Unknown assailants are believed to have breached his residence at dawn on February 9, and repeatedly stabbed him to death. Their motives at the moment remain unclear, although police have taken over the premises as they attempt to decipher what happened to Mr Danquah-Adu.
A three term MP, he survived a similar attack in 2010, when he sustained injuries from an attack by three assailants. His then girlfriend was accused of masterminding that attack, although what link exists between the two incidents is merely circumstantial at this point.
The late MP was the grandson of founding father J.B Danquah. He is survived by a wife and two children.
