Ghanaian midfielder Michael Essien’s house in Greece got burgled during the week, the 33 year old revealed on Sunday.
Essien, who lives in Athens now playing for Greeks side Panathinaikos, revealed the news nonchalantly on his twitter handle after his side lost a Greek Super League game 1-0.
This is not the first time the former Chelsea star has had to deal with a burglary, as a similar incident occurred at his London home in April last year, where thieves made off with a £75,000 Range Rover. Essien was playing in Milan at the time.
In his tweet, Essien noted it had been a bad week for him, and he’s looking forward to better luck in the new week.
Aren’t we all?
