President John Mahama says the people of this country should vote him for a second term in office so that he can put money in our pockets.
The President said his first term was for developing the infrastructural needs of this country, but his second would be used to make sure Ghanaians are well to do.
The President was speaking at the commissioning of a Community Day Senior High School in the Eastern Region on Thursday.
“Times come when we have to squeeze ourselves a bit to do the precious things that we need in life. We cannot have money in our pockets when the roads are not good.” he said
“What is the use of money in your pocket when you are sick and you cannot get a hospital to be cured. So sometimes when we are squeezing ourselves it is to do the essential things in life.” said the President, whose government whilst in opposition, famously thundered that ‘we cannot eat infrastructure’
“It is good politics to say things are hard but the money we are raising, we are using for things that would benefit this country, you cannot have jobs when you don’t have social infrastructure, so we have spent these last four years to bring these social infrastructure back to scratch.
“So when I win the second term then we will start putting money in your pockets,” the President concluded, without the slightest hint of irony, I assume.
So if I get this straight, President Mahama has butchered the economy for the last four years, and based on the way he’s talking it seems he knows it. But we should vote him because the butchering was done to build infrastructure, and when he wins this time, he would ensure there would be no more building, but just putting money in people’s pockets.
Yeah, makes sense- nothing fishy here.
