Former ‘Friends’ star Matt LeBlanc is set to join the British  show for car enthusiasts ‘Top Gear’, when it returns for its new season as a co-host.
The news was announced to much fan acclaim by the BBC show’s official website on Thursday.
Iconic host Jeremy Clarkson’s stint on the show came to an end last year, after a much publicised feud with one of the show’s producers, and Chris Evans had been announced as a new host.
But now LeBlanc, 48, would join as the show’s co-host. He has appeared on the show in the past, and hold’s the show’s fastest ever lap in the celebrity segment “star in a reasonably priced car”
“As a car nut and a massive fan of Top Gear, I’m honoured and excited to be a part of this iconic show’s new chapter,” said Matt. “What a thrill!”
Chris Evans added “Matt’s a lifelong fellow petrolhead and I’m thrilled he’s joining Top Gear. Acting out our craziest car notions on screen is a dream job and I know we’ll both be debating some epic road trip ideas.”
Matt LeBlanc shot to fame in the 90’s, starring for ten seasons on the award winning and record breaking sitcom ‘Friends’, playing Joey Tribianni, one of the six friends at the core of the show.
