Donald Trump loves to run his mouth and say whatever stupid thing comes in there, and he’s rich enough to be able to get away with the vilest statements.
However, that does mean other people do not get to form their opinions of him, and this election cycle so far musicians have been running away from him as fast as they can. Nobody want to be associated with the kind of statements he spews.
Elton John is the latest, forced to deny any ties with the billionaire’s campaign after his songs were used to at his rallies. Hits ‘Rocket Man’ and ‘Tiny Dancer’ were used at Trump campaign events.
A publicist for the singer said that Sir Elton had not given his permission for his songs to be used by Donald Trump, and that its use was in no way indicative of Elton John’s endorsement of Mr Trump.
“Elton’s music has not been requested for use in any official capacity by Donald Trump. Any use of his music should not be seen as an endorsement of Donald Trump by Elton,” the publicist said.
This follows hastily on the footsteps of singer Adele, who was also forced to deny any association with the campaign after her song, ‘Rolling In The Deep’ was used at Mr Trump’s rallies. Before her, Neil Young, Aerosmith, and R.E.M had all condemned the use of their music during Trump rallies.
