When you look at the 88th Academy Awards’ nomination list, it is not surprising in anyway why ‘Beasts of No Nation’ did not make it—because, all the nominated movies are far better than the Netflix film on all levels and the reviews even confirm this.
However, Ama K. Abebrese who starred in the movie as the mother of Abraham Attah told Live Fm earlier this week that she was surprised by the fact that ‘Beasts of No Nation’ did not make it to to Oscars’ list.
She said;
“In a way, I was a bit surprised because I thought if any movie deserves to be nominated…performances left right and center. I thought Idris (Elba) would get a nomination, and I thought Abraham Attah would get a nomination,” she said.
“The Oscars has been happening for 88 years. and in the 88 years they’ve given 14 Oscars to black people.”
Not just that, while on the show with Jeremie, she talked about herself, how she decided to leave the UK to Ghana six years ago and several other things.
You can listen to her full interview below but let’s mention that the Jeremie accent is so annoying and too fake to ignore….
