It’s another year and as always, it is Ghana’s self acclaimed dancehall King-Shatta Wale Vrs. Charter House, the organisers of the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
After bitterly losing the dancehall category award to female dancehall artiste-Kaakie in 2013, Shatta Wale took to the rough road; taking several hits at the organisers of VGMA.
It got out of hands when he sent several arsenal of insults the way of the CEO of Charter House the following year—that’s even after winning the 2014 Artiste of the Year award.
This landed him in court; currently fighting a defamation lawsuit brought by Charter House and its CEO.
As if the above drama is not enough, Shatta Wale who once said he does not want any award from Charter House has shockingly submitted his works to be considered for this year’s VGMA—and according to a report from LiveFM, the VGMA board together with Charter House have decided not to consider his works.
Apparently, they have decided to ban him for 3 or more years from participating in the award scheme.
