Togo and former Tottenham Hotspurs striker, Emmanuel Adebayor Sheyi, has joined Crystal Palace after his North London side released him from his contract.
Adebayor’s deal with Palace is a six month loan deal, with an eye to making it permanent if he convinces boss Alan Pardew during the next six months.
Adebayor has been struggling at Tottenham for the past few years, ever since returning from a loan spell at Real Madrid. He has barely played any games this season, and Palace are willing to bet on him because they need a striker and the 32 year old is free.
Adebayor’s career has suffered increasingly as he’s had to deal with personal issues which have spilled into the public domain, mostly with his family, who have many issues with his redistribution of the vast wealth football has adorned him with.
Palace manager Alan Pardew would hope he has put all this behind him and he can get back to doing what he does best- scoring goals.
