Every year Delloite reveals their football money league, and every year fans await the news with glee and revel in their club’s position- as if a cent of that even enters their pockets.
This year’s list follows the pattern of the past few years, Spanish clubs Real Madrid and Barcelona topping the chart. Despite the Spanish teams leading, more English clubs make the top 20 than any other country- 9 Premiership clubs.
Deloitte’s list measures a club’s earnings from matchday revenue, broadcast rights and commercial sources, and ranks them on that basis. The ranking is for the 2014/15 football league season.
Madrid’s no.1 ranking ensures they top the list for the 11th year running. Deloitte projects though that Manchester United is likely to top the list for next year.
