CHRIS-VINCENT Writes: The Malarkey & Hubris of Ghanaian Politics | What It Actually Means to the NDC & NPP for ‘Kayayoes’ to Donate 5000 GHS to the Latter

According to some of the NDC sympathizers within my social media circle, the 5000 GHS donation by the ‘Kumasi Association of Kayayoes’ could be a cooked food by the NPP.
Even if it is indeed genuine, it simple denotes that John Dramani Mahama’s NDC led government has performed significantly well such that, mere ‘Kayayoes’ below the chain of good earners are making enough money with surplus to donate to the NPP.
After all, every reasonable person will donate only when he/she has met his basic needs.
Apparently, the good gesture by the ‘Kayayoes’ is an endorsement of how President Mahama has transformed the lives of every Ghanaian, including ordinary ‘Kayayoes’—with businesses booming at every level such that they are making enough money to donate some.
To be frank, each of the two arguments sounds plausible to the ears—the only reason you will not believe on is if you are privy to further information. This simply shows the value of the ingredients in our Ghanaian political discourse.
And also, it confirms my earlier assertion that, you must have no conscience and integrity to excel in politics—the person who lacks it more, has the highest winning chance.
A single donation by ‘Kumasi Association of Kayayoes’ has two equally important meanings, depending on where you sit on the political fence.
Therefore, the masses have no choice than to seem stupid at the of the day—it’s so confusing that you can’t believe people will actually say and do these things just to win power.
