Wikipedia the online encyclopedia, aka the student’s best friend. Although everyone likes to denigrate the site as not professional since ‘anyone can edit’; that’s where everyone turns to for information whenever they’re in a pickle.
The site turned 15 on Friday, and for an encyclopedia which more than anything is defined by its editorial policy- they released a list of the most edited articles on the site in its decade and a half history.
Top was former US President George W. Bush, the most polarising leader of that nation in decades. His Wikipedia page was edited 45,862 times. Next were the ones for the ‘list of WWE personell’ and the page for the United States. Jesus, Barack Obama, Michael Jackson and Adolf Hitler all made the top ten.
Another list was centred on the most visited articles, and that ended with the article for ‘list of deaths by year’ topping. The articles on Wikipedia and Facebook took second and third respectively- whilst Google and Game of Thrones managed to sneak into the top ten.
Below are both top ten lists. All data is for the English language site.
