The legendary Playboy Mansion in Holmby Hills, LA, where anything and everything under this sun can be said to have occurred there, is up for sale.
There is one small catch though, which is that the 89 year old Hefner gets to reside there for the rest of his life.
The mansion has been the scene of some of the wildest and craziest parties Hollywood has ever seen, and what has happened within those walls is best left to the imagination. When you realise that two famous patronisers are Bill Cosby and Charlie Sheen, you probably get the picture.
The mansion on the five acre property has 29 rooms, a wine cellar, a home theatre, and other out of this world features; such as the backyard’s swimming pool and the famous cave-like grotto where the playboy bunnies had fun with the constant stream of celebrities always passing through the place. Hefner acquired the property in 1971 for $1m.
According to TMZ though, the $200m price is just the market listing, and that the mansion would more realistically go for around $90m.
“This is the right time to seek a buyer for this incredible property who understands the role the Mansion has played… and enables us to continue to reinvest in the transformation of our business.” Playboy CEO Scott Flanders said of the historic sale.
I can’t think of a more worthy successor to Hefner than Charlie Sheen.
