President John Dramani Mahama, the Osagyefo of our time,believes that his party has done wonderfully well in government, so much so that the people would give them the mandate to rule for the next four years.
The President was speaking at a Presidential retreat held in the Volta Regional capital of Ho, attended by the Vice President, Ministers and Deputy Ministers of State, and Presidential Advisers and Staffers .
Speaking to them, the President lauded their achievements in improving the lives of Ghanaians. According to him, everywhere you go, you see the improvements the government has wrought.
“We have done sufficient… There are things that we have delivered. I feel very proud, sometimes I don’t know we did it. You go to a community and the Chief is praising you to high heaven for some school or some clinic I didn’t even know had been put there. But everywhere you go they say we see the development, we have a good road, we have enough water.
“In Brong Ahafo alone, there is water for more than 300,000 households in about 27 communities … There is a lot that has been done in every sector…”
According to him, that is the strength of the NDC, and that is what would ensure they win the elections.
“There is a track record, there is a strong performance when it comes to development and infrastructure that we can defend. We will win this election. I’m confident that we will win this election,”
Somewhere in the recesses of my mind, I seem to remember a party making noises about how one cannot eat infrastructure, during their time in opposition- not to take anything away from the developments mentioned, of course.
