Former head of the National Health Insurance Authority, Sylvester Mensah, is currently in the grips of the Bureau Of National Investigations (BNI), for reasons undisclosed to the public as yet.
The state investigative agency raided the residence of the former MP on New Year’s Eve, but he was not at home at the time. On Friday morning, Mr Mensah surrendered himself to the headquarters of the agency.
Sylvester Mensah, a former Member of Parliament for the La Dadekotopon constituency, headed the NHIA until a June last year, when he was relieved of his duties.
The state agency is presumably investigating some cash transactions that occurred at the agency during his tenure.
