Pan African Magazine The New African have released their annual list of most influential Africans over the past year.
The list attempts to chronicle the achievements of eminent Africans over the calendar year and how they shaped happenings across the continent.
Investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, who released his most damning report yet with his undercover investigation into judicial corruption, made the list. Aside the masked crusader, British born director Amma Asante and web developer Raindolf Owusu also made the cut.
Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari and his predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan- were both placed on the list for their contributions to the electoral process in Nigeria that saw power change hands from one party to the other for the first time in their history.
Aside these two, eighteen other Nigerians made the cut, whilst South Africa had sixteen representatives.
The list profiled the continent’s top game changers in eight different fields: Politics (22); Public Office (4); Arts and Culture (21); Business (21); Civil Society (11); Technology(9); Media (7); and Sports (5).
