The spate of corruption scandals hitting the country is just so much that everyone is trying their own level of introspection to figure out what the hell is going on.
One thing about Ghana which has always seemed a little off is that most of the country identify as Christians, yet the corruption does not stop at the highest levels, but permeates down to the common people and is present in all dealings.
It is a paradox, and it has gotten General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church, Rev. Dr Paul Frimpong Manso wondering. He said squaring off the supposed piety of Ghanaians with the level of corruption does not add up.
“70 percent of the populations say they are Christians yet corruption is the toast of Ghana this year”
He also added that this is not limited to the populace, but even the church cannot be exonerated.
“It is shameful and Anas will get corrupt pastors if he is to investigate the church as well” he continued.
“Metro mass branding is the toast of corruption in 2015. Look at what happened at DVLA. It is such a shame. Corruption is everywhere. It is no longer a perception but a reality. I recently travelled to Canada and the only thing they asked me about is the corruption in Ghana.
“I’m not blaming any government, I blame all Ghanaians. We must stop the corrupt acts if we claim we are Christians” he concluded.
