Seasoned media practitioners veering into politics has become something of a fad these days, with the recent parliamentary primaries of both major parties seeing some interesting additions to the political scene.

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and Kwame Dzokoto, for starters, both won their primaries, whilst several others also won or lost their bids to join the state legislature in next year’s elections.

Kwame Sefa Kayi is one of the most recognisable names on the Ghanaian media landscape, having appeared on television and radio for most of the past two decades. On an appearance on Starr Fm’s Morning Drive, the question was thrown to him as to whether he had ever been offered a political appointment.

“I have never been offered one” he told Nii Arday Clegg.

That, however, did not mean he was ruling out serving the nation should the chance ever arise.

“Will I accept one? When we get to the bridge, we’ll cross it.” He said, refusing to commit himself one way or the other.
