Winneba
We come to this historical town, lying in the Effutu Municipality in the Central Region. Winneba is a town no proper Ghanaian is ignorant of, due to its unique significance in the historical and cultural story of this great country.
Simpa is a clean looking town where one can find the famous University of Education. The Aboakyer festival of the Effutu people is a premier tourist attraction, and not just to outsiders but to Ghanaians of other tribes as well. Winneba has a cool climate aided by its coastal nature, and also hosts abundant beaches that some of Accra’s most famous beaches can be jealous of. Winneba is a town well noted for exceptionality.
From that springs the Winneba Youth Choir, the widely known, widely travelled, unrivalled benchmark for Youth Choirs in Ghana. Founded in 1989 by Mensah-Essilfie, it remains a strong force to this day, and often lands the juiciest gigs during programs in Ghana and beyond.
