Mamprobi
The next locale housing a veritable youth choir is the one that lies so close to the central hub of the city, Mamprobi.
Mamprobi is a boiling pot of a township, housing both a modern and old fashioned series of houses. The greatest irony of Accra, Chorkor, lies next door. The widely known Mamprobi Post Office straddles the vicinity, snugly located between Central Accra and the more cosmopolitan Laterbiokoshie and Dansoman. The Mamprobi Polyclinic services a large variety of people, and provides a relief for the nearby Korle-Bu hospital, which is the country’s largest referral facility.
The town also spawned the non denominational Accra Youth Choir, made up of young music lovers dedicated to spreading the word of God through soulful music. It was founded by Mr Edmund Ellis Ekuful, George A Cofie and Francis Mensah Boakoe in 2006.
