The ying to Dansoman’s yang, Tema is a city that needs little introduction. The community built by Ghana’s first President has since evolved into one of the finest in the country, thriving alongside the nation’s industrial hub.
Made up of several, closely knit townships, Tema boasts of the harbour, the motorway, and half of Ghana’s biggest industries. Tema is divided into communities, which can be quite confusing to an outsider who probably expects them to be arranged linearly. That outsider would be dead wrong.
The bustling township also boasts of the Tema Youth Choir, which has carved out for itself quite the niche in the industry.
Founded in 2001 by Ebenezer Allotey, the choir has since grown into one of the most well known in the country, as well as having undertaken a couple of US tours that has endeared them to a smidgen of an international audience as well.
