Lord Sugar is quite the loud personality on twitter. Along with Piers Morgan, the two have a running feud based on their support of North London rivals Tottenham Hotspurs and Arsenal respectively.
The entrepreneur also has quite the wealth of knowledge on several subjects, including, you know, how British talent shows work- he being British and all. And he is simply disgusted at the turn this year’s competition is taking.
On Saturday, the public voting for the X-Factor final eliminated Che Chesterman from the competition, leaving Ghanaian journeymen Reggie and Bollie to contest the finals with Louisa Johnson.
Just like the editor of GhanaCelebrities.Com Chris-Vincent Agyapong Febiri pointed out in his article titled, “The Worst X-Factor Finals Ever | It Will Be Unfair & Disastrous If ‘Reggie & Bollie’ Wins X-Factor”- Lord Sugar cannot fathom how a singing talent show is going to feature in its finals two guys who cannot sing to save their lives.
In a series of posts on twitter, Sugar bemoaned the presence of the two in the competition, describing them as having no talent. He called the entire thing a joke, and even mentioned Simon Cowell, asking him if he can be proud of what the show has become?
They HAVE NO TALENT …..FACT https://t.co/Rf2vteHFFG

The point, of course, is a simple one, which many Ghanaians simply refuse to acknowledge. The X-Factor is a singing talent show, and between them, Reggie and Bollie’s singing talent amounts to a grain of sand on the sea shore.
As Chris-Vincent wrote in his article:
“X-Factor is a singing competition: and all the winners we’ve seen since 2004 confirm this well established principle of the show. Obviously, the show takes into consideration stage performance, personality and other factors but these are auxiliary to the core tenet: a winner must be able to SING.
“And ‘Reggie n Bollie’ cannot sing—they’ve managed to metaphorically and literally jump from their audition, right throughout the show to the finals.
“It’s a talent competition that places strong emphasis on singing, which means it’s a person’s vocal ability that should guide voters—but as independent bill payers, this year’s voters seem to have bought into Reggie n Bollie’s smooth entertainment, forgetting that it’s X-Factor and not ‘British Got Talent.’”
And Lord Sugar seems to wholeheartedly agree. Read his bemused tweets below…
