The internal struggle within the bowels of the New Patriotic Party seems to be heading towards a resolution, at least for now.
The last openly defiant ‘bad apples’ have just been exorcised, after the General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong and Second Vice Chairman Sammy Crabbe were indefinitely suspended from the party.
The decision was upheld by the National Executive Committee, which met on Thursday to debate the earlier decision taken by the party’s disciplinary committee. The two executives are thus suspended indefinitiely.
They are both perceived to be staunch supporters of suspended National Chairman Paul Afoko, and thus must make way for real party loyalists to run the party.
