Actress Yvonne Nelson says it will be totally unfair for ‘Beasts of No Nation’ to receive a nomination at the upcoming Ghana Movie Awards.

Even though the Idris Elba-featured has been submitted for the hotly-anticipated award show, Yvonne, 30, has stated that the movie does not qualify for nomination because of its foreign production.

“It’s not fair to all of us if they submit that movie because it is not a Ghanaian production. The fact that it was shot in Ghana, doesn’t make it a Ghanaian production. So I won’t agree to that. If we are trying to promote our own, why will we go for a foreign production?” she told KMJ on Daybreak HITZ on Hitz FM.

The Ghallywood star added that because of its budget, ‘Beasts of No Nation’ will definitely have an edge over the other Ghanaian-produced movies which had low budgets.

“You cannot compare a Hollywood production to a Ghanaian movie. The budgets are totally different,” she stressed.
