I respect Asamoah Gyan’s on-field achievements but off the pitch, dude is a f**king disaster—incapable of controlling his antics, backed by the fact that he has money to pay his way through whatever scandal befalls him.
And the above is made worse by the countless hungry bunch of Ghanaians who cannot seem to tell him the truth—and will cunningly shower him with undeserving praises so to have their pockets filled by their cash cow.
This week has been about Asamoah Gyan suing lawyer Maurice Ampaw for defamation: and I am told there is already a pending defamation lawsuit from the same Asamoah Gyan against Ampaw.
The lawsuits revolve around the Asamoah Gyan-Sarah Kwablah sex scandal—which has become a media warfare between Asamoah Gyan’s camp and that of Sarah Akwablah, with lawyer Ampaw capturing the ‘chief talkative’ position.
I am not a fan of lawyer Maurice Ampaw for the simple fact that he seems to enjoy a lot of unnecessary attention—and sometimes talks a lot of crap as if Donald Trump is his father.
But he is a qualified lawyer and the gravest contempt is to tell a lawyer he is a fraud or incompetent. Yet, Asamoah Gyan recently called Maurice Ampaw ‘incompetent’ or ‘fraud’ on Starr Fm when he said “I don’t see that guy as a lawyer…I don’t think he even has clients.”
Of course Asamoah Gyan would argue that it’s his opinion and technically, opinions can never be defamatory. That’s brilliant of the Ghanaian footballer and I do not have a problem with this.
However, the above statement provoked lawyer Maurice Ampaw to hit back at Gyan. Ampaw was seen on video a few days later saying Asamoah Gyan is a rapist—and a ‘sodomizer’, obviously referring to the Sarah Kwablah case.
Interestingly, Asamoah Gyan and his lawyer have sued Maurice Ampaw for defamation—perhaps forgetting that, it’s inequitable to talk cheap at someone and expect the person not to hit back at you.
Lawyer Ampaw should not have made the above statements but Asamoah Gyan should not have also made those contemptuous comments which taint the lawyer’s professional standing.
What’s shocking in all these to me is the fact that, Asmaoah Gyan’s lawyer-Kissi Adjabeng is excitedly filing series of lawsuits against each and everyone who takes a hit at Asamoah Gyan—when he should rather be telling his client the truth: shut up and regulate your off pitch conduct.
But then again, he doesn’t want to probably loose his daily bread and would as such suck up to all the nonsense—and even be part of it.
Asamoah Gyan has a lot of money and he should do something better with it—instead of suing people left and right, especially when he grants these people the opportunity to ‘defame’ him.
Just this year, the Gyans alone have ran about 6 court cases—all made necessary by their cheap conducts. And because they have a lot of money, no one seems to be able to tell them the hard truth.
