P!nk Lands A Role As UNICEF Ambassador

Celebrities bringing their tremendous influence to bear working with UN relief agencies is nothing new. When done truly altruistically, it’s a sight to behold.

P!nk has always been a sort of activist. Her song ‘Perfect’ is one of the best ever made tackling issues like self harm and depression. She already works with UNICEF as the National Spokesperson for UNICEF kid power; and was appointed as the organisation’s newest ambassador earlier this week.

Her role would build on her Kid Power platform, educating the public about the problem of child malnutrition across the globe.

“As a mom myself, it’s devastating to know that children are suffering because they don’t have adequate nutrition. All children should be able to grow up strong and healthy, with the opportunity to reach their full potential.” The singer, born Alicia Beth Moore, said- enunciating about her new role.

“As a UNICEF Ambassador, I want to use my platform to help end global malnutrition, which is why I’m so excited about UNICEF Kid Power – which gets kids and families involved in saving children’s lives,” she added.

Other UNICEF celebrity ambassadors include Selena Gomez, Sarah Jessica Parker, Alyssa Milano and Audrey Hepburn.
