American singer and songwriter, Gwen Stefani who is enjoying life with her new lover Blake Shelton, has revealed that she never thought of divorcing her ex Gavin Rossdale.
The “Used to Love You” balladeer said she considered herself in some situations when putting up that piece.
“When I wrote the song, I was sorta in a phase of forgiveness,” Stefani shared. “In a way, I’m getting to this point now, and all the songs up to that point were like, ‘Rah, I’m like so upset and so crazy.'”
“Everybody knows, pretty much, what happened to me. I got a divorce, which completely was not in the plan at all,” she explained. “For me, it purely wasn’t and [it was] a shock and horrible, a crazy explosion in my life.”
According to her the difficult moments helped her to open up—and throw light on the real happenings through her music.
“If you tell the truth and you’re just honest, people pick up on that,” Stefani told Elvis Duran during their ET interview on Thursday. “Humans like that.”
She added, “I think the good thing is that something good is coming out of something horrible.”
The 49-year-old who thought of making music as her companion after she parted ways with Gavin, luckily met her “pretty rad guy”. “I had to force myself to go to the studio because I really wanted to be in bed crying,” she recalled. “That’s what you want to do when your life falls apart.”
