As a singer, the one you do not want to do is cross a promoter, especially one with some juice.
You don’t want the story going around that you are a stiff. Although in this case, Future’s camp is claiming they pulled out because the promoter was not going to pay them for the performance.
The singer is being sued by Robert Caillier, a promoter who said he gave the singer’s team $15,000 in August last year to perform a show in Louisiana. However, Collier alleges despite taking the deposit, Future did not show up for the show, causing him to lose the deposit and his expected profits of $150,000.
Future’s camp disagrees with the account put forward by Caillier, according to TMZ.
“Sources close to Future say he did show up, and even performed one song, but was pulled offstage by his management after they realized Caillier didn’t have the balance of his payday.” The site writes.
A classic case of he said, she said. Let the judge sort it all out.
