The system is soo hard nowadays, this is what people are resorting to?

Everyone who grew up in Ghana knows that the real gods to fear are the vengeful, traditional ones- the antoa and the nogokpo deities. As for the Christian God Yahweh, everyone knows you can do whatever you like in his name, and there would be no consequences.

However, perhaps telling us that it is time to relinquish these powerless gods, a group of thieves have burgled a shrine of the universally feared antoa nyama deity in the Kwabre East district of the Ashanti Region.

The burglary, replied by the Ghanaian Times, saw gold, and several other valuable items kept in the shrines ‘strongroom’ carted away by the thieves.

The paper also gathered that they made away with some of the idols in the chamber, which are believed to contain trace elements of gold.

The inner chamber, which is not easily entered, had six guards, and they have all been arrested and granted bail to assist in investigations. Reports say the last time anyone entered that room was four years ago.

Residents in the area seem dumbfounded by this turn of events- I say this is what Mahama’s Ghana has brought us to.
