Philip Addison’s Candidacy Back On Track As Court Annuls Klottey Korle NPP Primary Results

Philip Addison

This guy huffed and puffed and threatened, and finally he seems to have gotten what he wanted all along.

Addison and another contestant, Nii Adjei Tawiah, lost the Osu Klottey Korle primaries to Nii Noi Nortey. But the duo remained insistent that the election was illegal, as they had agreed to postpone it at a party meeting.

Addison, making his debut foray into politics after coming to the public’s knowledge due to his performance as the NPP’s lawyer during the 2012 election court case- filed a writ at the Accra High Court challenging the conduct of the elections.

According to StarrfmOnline, the presiding judge on Tuesday rendered a verdict, annulling the results of the elections after the NPP failed to respond to the writ.

Presumably, there would therefore be a rerun of polls, where Addison would be hoping to triumph. The winner would have to square off against Dr Zanetor Rawlings in the general elections next year.
