What a thriving comeback for Adele!
Adele’s third studio album ’25’ has enjoyed a whopping sale of 2.3 million copies within three days in the United Sates, according Billboard and Nielson Music.
25 was released last Friday, following the singers hiatus from the music scene to take care of her child—after her second studio album 21, in the year 2011.
It has estimated that the album could make tremendous sales of 2.9 million within a week.
Adele breaks the record of Justin Bieber’s comeback effort ‘Purpose’ which had the highest-selling debut week of 2015; it sold 522,000 copies and 649,000 equivalent album units.
“Thus, 25 is already only the second album to sell more than 2 million copies in a single week since Nielsen Music began tracking sales in 1991. Further, by the end of the day Monday, it should surpass the single-week sales record, currently held by *NSYNC’s No Strings Attached, which debuted with 2,416,000 sold in the week ending March 26, 2000,” The website reported.
Adele’s lead single, “Hello”, was a critical and commercial success, topping the charts in 28 countries including the United Kingdom and the United States, where “Hello” became the first single ever to sell one million downloads in a release week.
