Unknown Group Of Assailants Ransack NPP Headquarters

Paul Afoko

Whilst the NDC did their best this weekend to claim Ghana’s ‘most internally unstable party’ title from NPP, the opposition party just would not even wait 24 hours to claim it back.

The Asylum Down headquarters of the party was torn apart Sunday evening/Monday dawn by an unknown group- although local media speculation places it firmly at the feet of Paul Afoko loyalists.

Various offices were gone through and documents and other equipments were vandalised by the assailants. Police were informed Monday morning, and a strong contingent of personell deployed to maintain peace at the headquarters.

The NPP is currently embroiled in some internal wrangling that have on many occasions turned violent, leading to the death of some members. The entire conflict is centred on the tenure of party chairman Paul Afoko and General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong. Afoko is currently suspended but keeps fighting the ban.
