Though on the national rader Victoria Hammah has been quiet, she was nurturing a political come back at far away Kintampo in the Brong Ahafo region—having secured a slot as one of NDC’s parliamentary aspirants for Kintampo North.
She was going to shock people; and come back into politics as a parliamentarian—following her dismissal from government by President Mahama over her million dollar scandal.
But, she has been shocked by the voting delegates of Kintampo North at a time when she thought it was going to be an effortless win for her.
At yesterday’s primaries, the former deputy Communications Minister lost the pursuit to Mr. Kwasi Etu-Bonde, a lecturer, an Agribusiness consultant and former Manager of the British American Tobacco company.
Mr Etu-Bonde obtained 1,854 votes to win the election. The MCE-Mr Michael Baffoe came second, receiving 1,785 votes. He was followed by Lawyer-Kofi Addaisu who got 1,501 votes to place third.
Miss. Victoria Hammah came forth with 1,115 votes, beating just Mr Yakubu who received 421 votes.
According to on ground reports, Victoria Hammah was sure she was going to win the primaries, considering her high political connections—and was greatly regarded as the candidate with President Mahama’s backing.
Perhaps, the people have still not forgotten about her scandal and do not regard her as a decent representative.
