The mastermind behind last Friday’s terrorist attacks in Paris that killed 129 people has been killed in a police raid in France, police say.
French police have been on a merciless streak since the attacks, hunting down the suspects. A raid on a house in Saint Denis is believed to have yielded fruitful results.
Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the suspected mastermind of the attacks, was killed in the raid that occurred at dawn on Wednesday. Two others were killed, as well as eight people arrested.
Heavily armed police stormed the building after a tip-off, the BBC reports. After the raid, his bullet riddled body was found- which has been identified using fingerprints.
Another casualty was a woman, believed to have been Abaaoud’s cousin, who blew herself up during the raid.
There is still a manhunt on for co-conspirator Salah Abdeslam, who is believed to have fled to neighbouring Belgium.
