Daniel Craig’s Spectre, the recently released instalment in the James Bond franchise; has shot to the top of the North American box office, with a strong opening weekend.
The 24th film in the iconic franchise, Spectre’s strong opening was still not good enough to topple the opening weekend of the last instalment, 2012’s Skyfall.
Spectre’s strong opening weekend performance garnered $73m, which was the strongest performance of any movie at the US and Canadian box office over the weekend. Skyfall, however; recouped for $88.4m on opening weekend in 2012.
