Power Barge Finally (FINALLY!) Sets Sail For Ghana

karpowership

We can finally say that those miracle barges are on the way here to help out- although we are being cautious because we have been disappointed so many times in the past.

A new report by myjoyonline claims that the Karpowership, expected to add 225 megawatts to the national grid- has set off for Ghana. The ship set off on the night of Friday, November 6, 2015.

Two weeks ago, after the commissioning of the barge by government in faraway Turkey, a journalist from the state owned media made us aware that the ship had set sail. A few days later, reports emerged that it had just been moved off shore, but had not set sail for Ghana.

That delay just added to a long list of delays, which began when we were promised the barges would complement the national grid upon their arrival in April 2015.

Six months later, it has set sail. It is expected in the country latest by November 22, and should be hooked up to the national grid at least ten days after that.
