The Black Stars would be back in action next weekend when they take on the Comoros Islands in a preliminary 2018 World Cup qualifier.
The Stars would be commencing the journey towards a fourth successive world cup appearance, and coach Avram Grant has named a strong squad for the double header.
The Stars are as close to a full squad as they’ve been at any point over the past year, with skipper Asamoah Gyan and his deputy Ayew both making the squad. The squad is chock full of team regulars, with Kwadwo Asamoah and Christian Atsu out due to injury. Jonathan Mensah makes his return after serving his Fifa suspension, whilst Adam Kwarasey is still not getting a call-up.
A couple of new guys would also get the chance to impress the coach. Eintracht Braunschweig’s right back Phil Ofosu-Ayeh, as well as the West African Football Academy’s Samuel Tetteh.
The first leg takes place on the 13th of November in Comoros, with the return leg set for Kumasi on the 17th.
Below is coach Avram Grant’s 23 man squad for the qualifier…
