Mrs Lauretta Lamptey, if you’ll recall, was the CHRAJ boss who blew the taxpayer’s money renting a hotel when she was supposed to be fighting corruption.
She accrued rent to the tune of Ghc 200,000- whilst she spent about Ghc 180,000 on renovating her official residence.
After a petition to the President to remove her from office, and the formation of a committee to look into the issue, the President has finally relieved her of her duties.
Acting on the recommendations of the committee, the President has removed the suspended commissioner from office.
Lauretta Lamptey came under public scrutiny last year when it was discovered that she had blown a good chunk of the taxpayer’s money staying in plush rented accommodations whilst her official residence was under renovation. The President established a committee to look into the issue which established a prima facie case against her.
Earlier on, the President had suspended her whilst the probe was ongoing.
