Lydia Forson Says She Believes In President Mahama Because ‘She Has To’

Lydia Forson

Not exactly a ringing endorsement- he’s what I have so I would take it like that.

Lydia Forson has on many occasions in the past written some brilliant satirical pieces tackling an ongoing issue. On some of those occasions, the target of her derision has been the President, John Dramani Mahama.

Speaking on Starr Fm, the actress made it clear though that she believes in the President despite what she may have written in the past. According to her, she has no political preference; but whoever is the President she’s obliged to believe in.

“I have always said that I believe in the President. I am not NDC or NPP but I believe in the President because he is what we have now and if he leaves and another president comes I would believe in him because I have to believe that he can make things work”.

Forson is basically saying getting into the high office is all that has earned President Mahama her trust. It’s not anything he has done personally- if a goat won that office it would get the same level of belief from Lydia Forson as John Mahama.

She further explained that her scathing posts where just that of a ‘frustrated believer’

“The post was just about a frustrated believer, basically when you believe in someone you keep hoping that the person would do something that would make you say yes…and the person doesn’t meet up your expectation but you keep hoping, so that was a post of someone who believes.”

From what he has done in his years in office, I’m not sure Ghanaians owe him any more than this kind of forced trust.
