English-American actor, super-model, and musician Samuel Osei “Sam” Sarpong, Jr. unfortunately passed on at the age of 40 earlier this week.

As we reported, Sarpong committed suicide on Monday (26 October)- after jumping off a bridge in Pasadena, California.

Sam is survived by his sister, June Sarpong who is a TV host, and his Ghanaian father, Samuel Sarpong Sr.

In the wake of his demise, tributes have been pouring in for the well known model, from celebrities such as Nick Cannon, his former ‘Yo Momma’ co-host Wilmer Valderrama; as well as his sister June Sarpong.

She released this statement following news of his death.

“I love my brother very much. Sam was an amazing human being. His passing is a loss for the world.

“I’d ask anyone who is going through tough times to seek help. Please talk to someone.

“My family and I are in a state of shock, please allow us to grieve in private. Thank you for all your messages of condolence,” she said.
