The chaos and anarchy permeating the NPP at the moment shows no sign of abating anytime soon, especially considering the recent suspension of party chairman Paul Afoko and its attendant issues.
Kwabena Agyepong is the other beleaguered party executive besides Afoko, and also run into some trouble at the party’s headquarters in Asylum Down on Tuesday. Irate supporters surrounded the car of Agyepong as he attempted to exit the headquarters.
They banged on his car and formed a crowd around it, angrily gesturing they would not allow it to pass. Their assault led to the smashing of his rear window, before his driver was able to manoeuvre through the crowd and speed off.
The supporters said the action was to serve as a message to Mr Agyepong, that along with Paul Afoko none of them are wanted and they should leave their party alone. It is believed Agyepong was on the premises to stop a Steering Committee meeting.
The NPP has since issued a statement condemning the attack.
“The party vehemently condemns the attack on the vehicle, and will conduct further investigations” the statement said.
