Can I be the first person to testify? Accra received a huge dose of dumsor yesterday that seemed stricter than the normal one.
Apparently, that was a result of a directive from the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDco), to the Electricity Company of Ghana, the dumsor regulators.
The directive was for the power distributor to shed 600MW of power, due to insufficient generating capacity. Challenges in acquiring gas, as well as other ‘technical challenges’ have affected the volume of power generated, and the consumers are to feel the brunt of it.
The directive was made on Thursday, and an ECG official speaking on Citi FM made it clear that it would lead to a worsening of the current situation.
What a time to be Ghanaian!
