A woman who gave birth in the skies with the video of the delivery (below) having gone viral is facing the downside of the story: she has been deported back to Taiwan by US officials without her baby, claims Chinese and Taiwanese media.

And that’s not all, reports say she may be ordered to pay 30,000 dollars for diverting the flight that she was on and causing delays with her delivery.

The woman known by only her surname- Jian who was on board China Airlines flight, from Bali to Los Angeles forced the plane to make an emergency landing in Alaska after the her waters broke six hours into the 19-hour flight.

Reports say US officials have accused her of intentionally flying around the due stage of her baby—so that she could just claim citizenship for her baby, popularly known as the Anchor baby scheme.

When the woman’s waters broke, cabin crew and a doctor on board helped deliver the baby girl weeks early that expected.

“However, the happiness soured when a former flight attendant with the airline revealed that the woman apparently failed to inform check-in staff she was 36 weeks pregnant,” reports Telegraph.

Apparently, when the woman went into labour, she was told to lie down and prepare for delivery but refused, saying she would give birth later, and kept asking: “Are we in US air space yet?”

ABC News  reports that Amira Rajput who captured the delivery on his phone said when the plane landed, the new mother was challenged by a border patrol agent who came aboard the plane—the agent asked to to see her passport.

“He told me that this is something foreign women do, to try and deliver overseas for citizenship,” said Mr Rajput.

Now Taiwanese and Chinese media are saying, the woman has since been deported by US immigration authorities—and she covered her face with a jacket as she flew into Taipei airport.

The reports add that her newborn child is now under the care of state authorities in Alaska and that she faced a bill for $30,000.

Lucienne Chen, a former flight attendant with China Airlines in a post on her Facebook page which has been shared more than 20,000 said “Not only did you take the lives of both yourself and your child as a joke, you also took the schedules of a plane-full of people as a joke — all because of your child’s American passport!”

Chen continued in her post. “An entire plane had to be diverted, causing scheduling problems for all the other innocent passengers. The crew also had to stay for the night in Alaska. Do you know the true social cost of your actions?”
