The Appeals Committee of the Ghana Football Association has overturned an earlier decision taken by the Disciplinary Committee in adjudging Hearts of Oak as the winners of a protest they filed against Kotoko for fielding an unqualified player.
The Committee has decided to overturn the original decision, thus restore Kotoko as the winners of the match, giving them back the six points they were deducted and deducting from Hearts of Oak the three points they were awarded.
The protest was filed by the Phobians after losing the Premier League super clash to Kotoko, with Hearts challenging the eligibility of Obed Owusu to be fielded in the game.
The decision means an updated table would see Asante Kotoko finish second on the just ended First Capital Plus Premier League log, whilst Hearts would drop to a lowly 13th position.
