Next year’s Oscars is definitely going to ROCK as comedian-Chris Rock will take centre-stage as the host of the 88th Academy Awards…
The 2016 Oscars will take place on 28th February and it will be broadcast live from the Hollywood & Highland Centre in Hollywood.
For his come back from 2005, Chris Rock is excited and took to twitter to say: “I’m so glad to be hosting the Oscars. I’s great to be back”.
The producers of the prestigious awards in a press release said, “Chris Rock is truly the MVP of the entertainment industry. Comedian, actor, writer, producer, director, documentarian – he’s done it all! He’s going to be a phenomenal Oscar host!”
Last year’s ceremony, hosted by television and Broadway star Neil Patrick Harris, had the lowest Oscar ratings for six years, and were down 16% on the previous year, when Ellen DeGeneres had been at the helm.
Now the next big announcement will be the Oscar nomination list…
